VAWA

An immigrant visa petition may be filed by a battered child, spouse, or parent at any time to escape their U.S. resident, or permanent resident batterer under the VAWA. While some may be concerned their batterer will find out about this petition, you can rest assured they will not be informed about it. In some cases, those who are suffering abuse while abroad may still be offered protection by filing a self-petition. We can help you with this process.

Once a petition has been approved, you may be eligible for green-card status, as well as certain benefits. These benefits cannot be changed since they are part of the VAWA legislation.
