ASYLUM

Asylum may be granted under very specific circumstances. However, the process can be complicated and those who are seeking asylum should contact an attorney who has experience handling these cases.

Affirmative Asylum with USCIS

The affirmative asylum process can usually be handled expeditiously and you may be able to obtain Employment Authorization while the application is pending, typically, within 180 days. However, the application must be made not later than one year after you enter the United States. Failure to do so could result in your being ineligible. We have experience handling affirmative asylum actions. Whether you have just entered the United States, or you have been here for three to six months, it is important to get this process initiated as quickly as possible.
